八甲镇是广东省阳江市阳春市下辖的乡镇，位于阳春市西南部，离市区约55公里。全镇下辖1个社区和20个行政村，镇名来自清代的八甲圩。[1][2][8]

镇内有八甲仙湖、白水瀑布等景点，八甲荬菜是本地的特色蔬菜。[10][11][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清嘉庆年间（1796—1820年），八甲堡的西门外开设圩场，称八甲圩。镇名便是由这个圩市而来。[1][6]

1947年7月，八甲归第四区管辖，并划成八甲、乔连两乡，两乡仍属第四区。1949年10月，县、区、乡三级建制得以设立。1951年春，乔连乡原有的一至三行政村另划出去，组成中田乡。[3]

1953年，八甲归入第十一区的编制。1958年10月，八甲公社成立。同年11月，阳春与阳江合为两阳县，八甲、三甲、双滘三个公社合成春西公社，此后春西公社更名三甲公社，内设八甲生产区。1961年4月，八甲公社恢复；当年5月拆为八甲、黄桐、乔连三社；11月三社都纳入三甲区。1963年1月，八甲、黄垌、乔连三社重新合为八甲公社。[3]

1983年改设八甲区，1986年设立八甲镇。八甲社区成立于1987年，当时由原阳春县人民政府予以批准，属镇中心区。[3][7]

1999年3月15日，阳春市人民政府核准设立全镇20个行政村的村委会，此后沿用至今。[4][5]

地理环境[edit]

八甲镇东面与潭水镇、河口镇接壤，北面与双滘镇、三甲镇相连，南面和西南面与阳西、电白、高州为邻。全镇面积280平方千米。[2][8]

南部为八甲大山一带的山地，鹅凰嶂位于其中，海拔约1337米，地处阳春、阳西与电白三地交界处。[9][12]

人口[edit]

博雅地名网记1999年全镇登记人口66854人，农业人口占其中62101人。[2] 第七次全国人口普查于2021年6月公布结果，八甲镇人口为5.11万人，在阳春市各乡镇街道中排第5位。[1]

百度百科引用的是截至2019年末的户籍人口85980人。户籍与普查两个数字的口径不同，相差较大，本条目并列记载，未作换算。[8]

博雅地名网1999年的数字显示，当年全镇耕地48225亩，水田40735亩，果园约39174亩，以龙眼、荔枝为多。农民人均收入为2839元，工农业总产值合计3.56亿元（农业2.32亿元，工业1.24亿元）。[2]

八甲荬菜被列为「一乡一品」发展项目，同一概况中有记。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

八甲仙湖在鹅凰嶂五指峰脚下，是一座1971年建成的人工水库，兼顾蓄水与发电。湖面逾百万平方米，最深处38米。国画家关山月为湖题写「仙湖」二字，湖名由此而来。百度百科记总蓄水量2230万立方米，博雅地名网则写作储水量2418万立方米。[10][13]

白水瀑布位于鹅凰嶂双髻顶峰下，海拔585米，落差225米，分十三级迭落，所以称作「十三迭」。落潭处的响水潭畔，石壁上留有道光十三年状元林召棠题写的「漱玉台」。[11][14]
