1949年前后这里设过乡。1958年曾改为生产大队，1983年改设乡政府，1986年改称村民委员会，1989年改成管理区。1999年3月5日，清水塘村委会获批成立，沿用至今[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，清水塘村被广东省农业农村部门评为一村一品专业村，主产牛大力[1]。2023年10月，清水塘村列入2023年度阳江市卫生村名单[1]。
