社塘村是河朗镇下辖的行政村，村名源于明嘉靖年间在天子山下的塘边立村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖年间（1522年至1566年），人们在天子山下的一口池塘边立村，故名社塘村。民国至1950年归阳三乡，1951年至1956年改属光荣乡。1958年设立光荣大队下的社塘自然村，1989年设社塘管理区；1999年3月经阳春市政府批准，社塘村委会正式设立。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，社塘村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]

社二村于2021年12月获「2021年度阳江市卫生村」称号，社一村于2023年10月获「2023年度阳江市卫生村」称号。[1]

2023年4月，社塘村出现在「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位名单中。2023年11月，社塘村入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」名单。[1]
