湖尾村位于阳西县新圩镇，城乡分类属村庄（代码220）。阳江市2021年度卫生村名单中，该村的河坑村入选，名单公布于2021年12月。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

湖尾在1949年属阳江县七区，1953年划入阳江县十七区，1956年归儒洞乡。1958年11月编入大跃进人民公社，同年12月归入儒洞人民公社，1959年成立湖尾生产大队，1961年划归新墟人民公社。1983年开设湖尾乡，由新墟区管辖；1987年2月转为村委会；1988年阳江建市分县后属阳西县新墟镇；1989年建立管理区，1999年村委会重新设立，名称沿用至今。[2]
