沙湖村是上洋镇的一个行政村。解放初期，南美、沙湖塘、良坑、六鸟、沙沟、豪面和白沙八个居民点合并为一村；因白沙居民点人口最多，起名白沙乡。1983年春改称沙湖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年设白沙村，隶阳江县第七区；1953年改入第十八区，设白沙乡。1956年归上洋区，1958年5月为上洋乡辖地。[2]

1958年12月此地划入儒洞人民公社，1959年10月又回归上洋人民公社，并设白沙生产大队。1983年起名沙湖乡，属上洋区；1987年2月组建沙湖村委会，归上洋镇；1988年阳西分县后属阳西县上洋镇；1989年改为管理区；1999年村委会复设。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，沙湖村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村称号。辖内豪面村、六鸟村于2023年度入选阳江市卫生村。[1]
