周南村属阳西县塘口镇。2026年1月，该村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]
地名由来[edit]
明成化年间（1465至1487年），村民自福建南雄迁来周村一支，再迁到此地建村，取“周村”与“南雄”各一字为村名。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
周南行政村于1949年11月设立，此前一个月属阳江县六区，之后归十五区周南乡管辖。1956年12月划归塘口区，1958年5月入塘口乡，同年12月进入大跃进人民公社。1959年改设周南生产大队，同年10月重归塘口人民公社。[2]
1967年成为周南革命委员会，1980年改为生产大队管委会。1983年设周南乡，1987年2月改设村委会，1988年归阳西县塘口镇。1989年9月改称管理区，1999年9月又恢复村委会。[2]
2021年12月，水南、白坟仔、上王、下王与下㙟等村入选「2021年度阳江市卫生村」。[1]
