莲湖村位于阳西县程村镇，1960年自莲花乡分出，后与石湖洞乡合并，村委会取名时寓意「连住石湖洞乡」，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年11月此地设莲湖行政村，隶属阳江县六区。1953年另设莲花乡，1956年划入程村区，1958年5月隶属程村乡，同年11月并入大跃进人民公社。[2]

1967年起设莲湖革命委员会，1980年改称莲湖生产大队，1983年设莲湖乡。[2]

经济[edit]

2021年9月，广东省农业农村厅把莲湖村列入第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，主导产品为沉香。[1]

文化[edit]

2022年11月，莲湖村被列为「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」。2021年12月，大安村、岗谷平村、石湖垌村、大湴仔村名列2021年度「阳江市卫生村」之中。2019年9月，莲湖村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
