中洲街道是广东省阳江市江城区下辖的街道，位于江城区西北部，辖区处在漠阳江中下游东河与西河之间。[1]街道辖1个社区和8个行政村，[4]它是江城区调整区划时，从城西街道析出八个村民委员会合组而成的，设立于2006年。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

街道名称取自辖区所在的一片中心洲，这片洲地被漠阳江中下游的东河、西河环抱。[1]辖区面积24.47平方千米。[1][3]东面隔江与城北街道、岗列街道相望，南接城西街道，西面与白沙街道隔江相对，北面隔江与阳东县红丰镇遥对。街道办事处设在和平村。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清朝年间，这片地方散布在长乐、归善、太平三乡之下的五个都里，即郡台都、独州都、雁村都、那贡都和端逢都，每都再辖若干图。[2]

1956年末，此地划入附城区。次年一年之内，它的隶属与名称屡次变动：先为城西乡，随后并入附城乡，再改属超美公社，年底转入江城公社。1959年2月起划归岗列公社；1961年5月，城西和对岸两个公社从岗列析出，此地成为城西公社的一部分。[2]

此后的几次变动集中在城西一带的区、乡、镇之间：1983年11月划为城西区，1987年2月复设城西乡，1988年改为城西街道办事处，1994年1月又改为城西镇，2003年8月再设城西街道办事处。[2]

2006年8月31日起，原属城西街道的八个村民委员会改由新设的中洲街道管辖，中洲街道由此建立。[2][3]

人口与经济[edit]

第七次全国人口普查结果显示，街道人口约4.72万人，在江城区各街道乡镇中居第6位。[1]百度百科信息框记为32690人（2019年末户籍人口），其正文又写作2011年末数字，两个年份互相矛盾，本条不采用。[3]

据百度百科，2017年街道的工业账目如下：规模以上企业产值约101.8亿元，175家规模以下企业合计9.7亿元，两项相加约111.5亿元。同年工业固定资产投资约4.87亿元，引进资金1.2亿元，非税收入320万元。[3]
