新回龙镇是广东省河源市东源县下辖的镇，地处县境西南，紧邻新丰江水库的西南岸，东面与新港镇相邻，北面接锡场镇。[1][3] 镇名中的“新”字是1983年为避免与龙川县的“回龙”重名而加上的；1994年1月，回龙由乡改为镇。[4][6] 全镇现辖10个行政村，东源县现行区划表与维基百科所列相同。[2][5]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，这一带隶属河源县大洲都的洪溪约。[4] 到1936年，此地以回龙为名设镇，归河源县第四区管辖，属洪溪乡。[1][4] 1950年1月，回龙改归河源县第五区，区址放在回龙圩；1951年7月又改属第三区，建回龙乡；1957年12月，区制撤销，此地改设乡级建制，仍名回龙。[4]

1959年新丰江水库开建，回龙和半江、锡场、南湖、立溪等地一起编入水库人民公社。[4] 1962年，回龙从中分出，单独设公社。1983年11月，此地改为区一级；因与龙川县的回龙重名，改称新回龙。[4] 1987年3月，区级建制改为乡，称新回龙乡；次年1月划入河源市郊区。[4]

东源县于1993年11月设立，新回龙随之属东源县辖。1994年1月，省政府批准，此乡与双江、涧头、黄沙、三河、漳溪、久社、半江等乡同时改镇。[4][6] 2004年，全县村委会经裁并减少28个，余258个。[6]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于北回归线以西，新丰江水库的西南边陲。[3] 博雅地名网所载，山地约36万亩，水域约21.2万亩。[3] 周边情况据百度百科：东边紧挨新港镇，南面与源城区的埔前镇以及博罗县公庄镇接壤；西边与龙门县的蓝田瑶族乡、平陵镇为邻；北面连着锡场镇。[1] 镇域面积有两个数字：百度百科记为235.43平方千米，东源县现行区划表记为389.86平方千米，两者并存，以备查考。[1][5] 气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]

据百度百科，截至2019年末，全镇有户籍人口9685人。[1] 博雅地名网所载概况写于2003年，当时全镇有1996户、10169人，设13个村民委员会，墟镇面积约0.3平方千米。[3]

百度百科载，2017年的税收收入为731万元，农民人均可支配收入9262元，固定资产投资1.2375亿元，工农业总产值与社会总产值分别为9915.6万元与5493万元。[1] 笋竹是传统的种植与加工产业：博雅地名网所载2003年前后，笋竹种植面积达10330亩，另有加工竹7010亩，镇内有笋竹加工场1个；“新回龙笋竹”被认作县内外知名的农特产品。[3]
