叶潭村隶属东源县叶潭镇，城乡分类上属镇乡结合区。[1]

村名的来历，博雅地名网记为一则传说：古时此处古树参天，龙勿一带有一处又大又深的水潭，山洪暴发时落叶盖满水面，只见树叶不见水，故而得名。[1]

2019年10月，本村列入「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]

村中的中共河源县委员会成立旧址，是河源市第四批文物保护单位之一，相关情况详见叶潭镇条目。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年此地归第九区（黄村）管辖，设叶潭乡；1957年成为叶潭小乡，1958年改称叶潭大队，1983年设叶潭乡，1987年改为叶潭管理区。1999年，东源县政府同意设立叶潭村委会，此名延续至今。[1]
