柳城村在柳城镇内属镇乡结合区。村名取自旧时神公寨一带的十二座围龙屋与周围的柳树，形似城池，镇名也由此而来（见镇条目）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
柳城村1958年为大队，1983年改设乡，1987年为管理区，1993年称村委会，1999年由东源县政府批准成立村委会，沿用至今。[1][3]
荣誉[edit]
2019年10月，柳城村列入「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
石林寺遗址是清代古遗址，列入「第三次全国文物普查不可移动文物名录」，未定级，位于柳城村坪山小组。[2]
