新下村是连平县忠信镇下辖的行政村，位于忠信河两岸，属村庄类。村民的先人由忠信司前吴氏的一支迁来，在忠信河两边落居，最初称「新屋下」，又称「新屋夏」（意为新家），后改为「新下」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是迁居之初的「新家」之意，此后沿用至今。[1]

2023年4月，新下村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。新下村于2023年5月获广东省爱卫会表彰，被评为「2022年广东省卫生村」。2026年3月，村庄被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
