司前村是连平县忠信镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的东南部，属镇乡结合区。村内保存有司前寨围龙屋建筑群，有宗祠、养正书室等客家建筑，2019年6月被列入第五批中国传统村落名录。村民以农耕、家禽养殖和外出务工为主。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
村名源于明代洪武年间（约1374年）：吴氏开基祖逊公经商路过官邸忠信司衙，夜宿时梦见亲族都在此安居，于是在司衙前面建寨，故称司前。[1]
此前这一带由柘陂、新下两地合成的合水乡管辖，建国后同上坣联合，被称作上前乡。1958年设为司前大队，1986年设司前管理区，1998年撤区，改为村民委员会。[1]
文化[edit]
百度百科称，司前村是忠信花灯的发祥地之一，每年正月有迎灯、上灯等习俗活动。村内传统建筑约占村庄总面积的四成。[2]
经济[edit]
2026年1月，司前村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。此前，村庄先后获得「第五届全国文明村镇」、「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」、「全国乡村治理示范村」等称号。[1][2]
