据博雅地名网，从高处俯看此地，村落与中间的田地连成一个「张」字，村名由此而来。[1]

沿革[edit]

1952年，此地归参前乡管辖；1958年，张田自参前乡分出，单独建为大队；1984年转为张田乡；1987年改称村委会；1989年改为管理区，1999年又设村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，张田村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
