上洋田村是龙母镇下辖的行政村，位于洋田村之上，村名由此而来。据博雅地名网，此地原先居住的是王姓，称“王田”；后来谢姓人口渐多，王姓迁走，谢姓所铸的银元在南洋一带流通，于是改称“洋田”，这一片在洋田之上的村落便称上洋田。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初至1958年冬，上洋田一带属龙母乡下的洋田村。1958年后以龙母公社洋田大队的身份存在，至1977年为止；1978年从洋田分出，设上洋田大队。1983年与洋田并为洋田乡，1986年设村委会，1989年改称镇属管理区，1999年重设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会评定上洋田村为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
