张堂村是龙母镇下辖的行政村。村名的来历是：早年张姓人家最先迁到此地定居，建起祠堂，因以姓氏命名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初，张堂一带属龙母乡田北村，其中张夏堂为一个生产队，此后直到1977年仍属田北村。1977年起单独设为龙母公社的张堂大队；1983至1986年改为区公所下的张堂乡，1986年设村委会，1989年改称镇属管理区，1999年重设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会评定张堂村为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
