藕塘村是龙母镇下辖的行政村。据博雅地名网，村名来自旧时地貌：此处原为沼泽，地形像一口大塘，塘中生有许多莲藕，故称藕塘。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

藕塘原属龙母乡。1958年后为龙母公社的藕塘大队，1983年至1986年改为区公所下的藕塘乡；1986年设村委会，1989年改称镇属管理区，1999年重设村民委员会，延续至今。[1]

与镇名的关系[edit]

百度百科记载，清乾隆年间藕塘曾发展为小市场，名“雉鸡龙圩”，后来附近几姓另在两千米外建圩，取名龙母，龙母镇的镇名即由此而来。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会评定藕塘村为「2022年广东省卫生村」。2026年1月，藕塘村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

镇政府2025年工作计划把藕塘村列为典型村，要求继续推进其建设。[3]
