名光村位于丰稔镇西南部，原名丰光。[1][2] 1981年地名普查时，因与铁场镇的丰光大队同名，改称名光，改名时取「名山」「嶂光」两个自然村各一字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1981年前村名为丰光，此后改为名光。1983年由大队改为乡，1986年改为村委会，1999年设立村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年10月，该村进入省卫生村的2019年名单；2021年4月，县级文明村镇（2020年度）的称号授予该村。[1]

经济[edit]

规划将名光村划入丰稔乡村社区生活圈，与丰稔村、丰联村同属一圈。[2]
