莲坑村是鹤市镇下辖的行政村，与富石、鹤市、河布等村及鹤市社区相邻。[1]村名的来历与一处旧时的山间湖泊有关。[1]

地名由来与沿革[edit]

相传此地从前有一个山间湖泊，湖中生有莲花；周围群山环绕，山多而坑地也多，于是得名莲坑。[1]

1953年，这里设立莲坑乡政府。此后经历大队、乡政府、管理区等不同建制，1999年才重新设立村委会，沿用至今。[1]

近况[edit]

2021年1月，河源市文明委把「2020年度河源市文明村」的称号授予了莲坑村。[1]

2023年，市级领导联镇包片，帮助解决了莲坑、富石等村儿童上下学困难的问题；同年，莲坑村建立了村级事务公开清单。[2]
