永光村是紫金县苏区镇的行政村，1972年从永坑分出，村名含“永远光明”之意。[1]

地名由来与历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网引老人的说法：1972年，原来的永坑一分为二，“坑”字有偏僻之意，新辖区取“光”字，寓意永远光明，故名永光。[1] 永光大队设于1958年的公社化时期，后来先后变为永光乡（1983年）、永光管理区（1989年），1999年起由村委会管理。[1]

经济[edit]

永光与黄布一带蕴藏优质高岭土，估计有280多万吨。[2]

荣誉[edit]

永光村在2023年5月由广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
