光凹村属临江镇，旧时写作光坳。“坳”“凹”同音，两个字长期混用，至迟到2002年，村委会已写成光凹。[1] 河源市文明委2021年1月授予该村「2020年度河源市文明村」称号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年5月，光坳乡成立，属第十区；1957年12月并入临江乡。1958年10月公社化，立光坳生产大队，归柏埔公社，1961年4月起归临江公社。1983年称乡，1987年称村，1989年改管理区，1999年成立村委会。[1]

2019年9月，该村被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
