禾坑村属临江镇，是个古地名：明隆庆三年（1569年）永安置县时就有禾坑村。[1][2] “禾”在当地方言里指水稻，这里土地肥沃，水源足，以种稻为主，村名据此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

永安置县之初，禾坑属宽得都下江东社；清代归宽得都江东约，为约下14村之一。[2] 1952年5月立禾坑乡，隶第十区（柏埔），1957年12月划入临江乡；1958年10月公社化，改设禾坑生产大队，归柏埔公社，1961年4月起归临江公社。八十年代起，1983年改称乡，1987年改称村委会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年重新成立村委会，沿用至今。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单，同年10月入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]
