潭东村是陆丰市潭西镇东部的行政村，面积约27平方千米，分9个村民小组，据博雅地名网总人口5366多人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前村内的聚落有陇尾围、寨内、西门、竹炉、夏炉、香巷和新厝，其中寨内因人少而并入西门。[1]

潭东大队成立于公社化的1958年，下属8个自然村，七乡点一带是革命老区。1983年新溪自然村由溪美大队划来，同时改称潭东乡；1987年起为村委会，管理区的名称用过一段时间（1994年起），1999年改回村委会。[1]

文物与荣誉[edit]

陆潭公路北侧的林氏祖祠，当年曾是潭东的农会所在，列为陆丰第一批县级文物保护单位。[1]

2020年12月，该村获「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
