潭西村是陆丰市潭西镇的行政村，位于镇中心区，面积8平方千米，分8个村民小组，据博雅地名网总人口11800人。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

村名据说取自它在陆丰西部、沿岸溪潭密布的位置。[1]

土地改革时为潭西乡，公社化时的1958年成立潭西大队。此后1983年一度改乡，1987年起设村委会；1994年曾叫管理区，1999年村委会之名恢复。[1]

经济[edit]

种稻是村民的主业，可是水源不足长期妨碍耕作。村里于是招商办起宝石厂，又鼓励种红薯、西瓜，在山地栽果树和速生桉。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予该村「2020年广东省卫生村」称号；2026年1月，又被评为「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
