汤湖村在行政上归广东省汕尾市陆丰市南塘镇管辖，是镇内24个行政村委会之一[1]。2021年9月，广东省农业农村厅公布「第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」，其中有该村的马铃薯[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1975年，汤湖是东桥公社的汤湖大队；1983年撤销东桥公社，改设汤湖乡，属南塘区；1987年4月，汤湖改为南塘镇辖下的村委会；1994年称管理区，1999年复称村委会。2009年，沙溪自然村从汤湖析出，另设村民委员会，汤湖村委会的名称沿用至今。[1]

据博雅地名网所载的村情，汤湖村在南塘镇北片，辖2个村民小组，565户，耕地约3000亩，其中水田1500亩、旱地1000亩、山坡地约800亩；该页称它是省指定的贫困村之一[1]。
