竹新村是汕尾市陆丰市湖东镇的行政村。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

顺治年间（1644至1661年），薛姓村民围山造林、垦荒造田，又接纳散居的谢姓同住，成村。[1][2]人民公社时期，它和寨内、湖东两村并成竹湖大队，1988年称竹湖管区。2008年陆丰市人民政府批准其从竹湖村委会分出，设竹新村委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱卫会在2020年12月授予该村「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
