湖口村在河西街道，紧靠广汕公路和深汕高速公路，村域面积2平方公里，博雅地名网归为城乡结合区，称它是陆丰城区向外扩展的重点地段。[1]村内有道教宫观紫竹观。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后设湖口乡，属第二区（潭西区）。1961年改湖口大队；1962年山脚、湖田两个大队从中划出。1983年恢复称乡，属河西区；1987年改村委会，属河西镇；1994年称管理区，1999年再改回村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

紫竹观是全真龙门派道观，始建于清光绪二十三年（1897年），占地1050平方米，建筑面积860平方米，另有果园、菜园和农田65亩。观内建有玉皇殿、观音厅、三宫大帝厅等。[2]
