大务村在螺河西岸，村域面积3平方公里，是河西街道的行政村之一。[1]村里人多地少，不少村民外出务工；螺河大堤修成后交通改善，山地与河边的条件适合发展速生林、种养业和办厂。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期称大雾乡，属第二区（潭西区）。1969年改称大务大队，由潭西公社划归河西公社。1987年分设大务村委会，属河西镇；1994年改称管理区，1999年又改回村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，该村被广东省爱卫会授予“2021年广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
