激石溪村位于陆河县新田镇西北部的高寒山区，东邻湖坑村，南接海丰县，西接惠东县，北接紫金县，是海陆丰早期革命的重要根据地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网载，明崇祯年间（1627—1644年）陈、叶、丘、范、万等姓先后迁来居住。[2] 新中国成立后先以片村名设激溪乡，1958年至1983年改为激石溪生产大队，其后1986年称村委会，1999年起称村民委员会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

1927年10月，南昌起义南下部队驻此整编为红二师，此后一年半以此为据点；红二师纪念亭就在村内三江口。[3][4] 中共东江特委、海陆紫县委等机关也曾设在这里。[4] 村里有激石溪革命根据地先烈纪念园，位于上垸自然村。[5]

基本情况[edit]

村距县城约40公里，距镇政府12公里，设8个村民小组，232户，总人口1256人，常住约800人。[1] 新田河的主要源头在村内，山溪落差大，建有数座小型水电站，汕尾市国有吉溪林场也在村内。[1] 博雅地名网记下辖12个自然村，山上种速生桉、湿地松和杉木，水田种水稻与花生。[2]
