参城村处在陆河县新田镇的西北角，总面积达15.07平方千米，因明代在此设参将府而得名，村内保存有参将署遗址。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村情页载，传说一千多年前蓝姓最早在此居住，后来迁走，叶、郭、杨、周等12个姓氏陆续迁入。[1] 博雅地名网则把时间定在北宋大中祥符九年（1016年），称最早建村的是蓝姓，其后郭、杨、叶、丘诸姓相继迁入。[2]

明隆庆六年（1572年），官府开始在此驻兵设防；万历二年（1574年）把惠州参将移驻到这里，营房共建72间，城墙环绕四周，高6米、厚1.5米，总长2000多米，开有东南西北四门，参将侯继高奉命驻守，称参将府。[1] 府署在明末（1644年）撤废后由平民居住，后人取「参将」之「参」与古城之意，称此地参城。[1] 新中国成立后设参城乡；参城大队存在于1958年至1983年之间；1986年改称村委会，1999年起称村民委员会。[2]

村情页载，全村耕地2084亩、林地1.8万亩，分大门、东门、西门、下圩、竹新、响水6个村民小组，887户，户籍人口4473人，常住2350人。[1] 2020年8月，参城村列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产品为蜜柚。[2] 2026年1月，又获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[2]
