河新村在河口镇北溪河与南溪河交汇处，距镇中心区2公里，下设5个村民小组，人口近2000人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

河新在1958年至1983年是河新大队。1984年3月起，大队体制取消，改由乡政府管理；此后村一级的称呼依次是村委会（1986年）、管理区办事处（1990年）、村民委员会（1999年）。[2]

概况[edit]

村里水田种水稻和蔬菜，坡地种荔枝、龙眼、芒果、香蕉，山上栽桉树，以农牧业为主要收入来源。2009年村道完成混凝土硬化，水库移民新村是村里的建设亮点。[1] 河新村在2019年9月被省里列为2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
