营下村在河口镇南溪片，位于南溪河中游，县道X133线边，距镇中心区十公里，面积9平方千米，下设13个村民小组，被称为南溪片的经济文化中心。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

营下乡于解放后设立；1958年到1983年，它叫营下大队。1984年3月起，大队体制取消，改由乡政府管理；此后村一级的称呼依次是村委会（1986年）、管理区办事处（1990年）、村民委员会（1999年）。枫树、大塘两村原属营下，大塘于1963年划出，枫树于1986年划出。[2]

村里有五百多户、三千多人，耕地1500亩。村民经营小商业，种水稻和龙眼、油柑等水果。村子曾被县里定为建设社会主义新农村示范点之一，到2008年村道全部硬化，南溪中学和营下小学也经过改建扩建。[1] 2020年8月，营下村以水稻入选「首批广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」；2019年9月，列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

非物质文化遗产[edit]

营下豆腐角用盐水豆腐制作，据说起于清末，是陆河县河口镇营下村的传统小吃，现炸现吃，常用生菜包着蘸蒜头盐水或醋吃。2020年1月入选陆河县第四批县级非遗名录，2022年入选汕尾市第三批市级非遗代表性项目，保护单位为河口文化站。[3]
