海丰县北部的黄羌镇属汕尾市，是革命老区，镇政府设在黄羌圩，辖1个社区和一批行政村，另有国有黄羌林场代管的4个村。[2][5] 1927年秋，南昌起义军余部在这一带改编为工农革命军第二师，镇内留有一批海陆丰革命遗址。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
清代，镇域内的村庄分属海丰县石塘都的罗輋、里仁、黄泥塘、西坑等约。民国时期这里是公平区的公北乡；1949年7月解放后改称平北乡，1950年归海丰二区，1953年划入公平区。[4]
1957年撤乡置黄羌乡，次年冬并入公平人民公社；1961年自公社分出，另立黄羌人民公社。1984年3月改社为区，1987年5月12日撤区设镇，沿用至今。[4]
地名由来[edit]
镇名始见于清乾隆四十二年（1777年）。博雅地名网记两种说法：一说明代中叶驻地一带盛产黄姜，因此得名；另一说与黄麂（又称麂子、黄猄）或山羌有关。[4]
地理环境[edit]
全镇位于海丰县北部，东北与陆河县新田镇相接，西北邻惠东县高潭镇，东南、西南分别同平东镇、公平镇交界。县政府网站称行政区域面积142平方千米，林地14.3万亩，辖18个村、1个社区，共146个自然村；百度百科作151.56平方千米，博雅地名网作约138.4平方千米，各处口径不一。[2][4][5]
南部的合门、河东等村濒临或毗邻公平水库，松林河自松林、建林、里坑、合门一路汇入该库。[1]
人口[edit]
县政府网站记户籍人口约4万、常住人口约1.7万；百度百科记2019年末户籍人口44271人，2020年常住人口16781人。[2][5] 镇内各村户籍人口多在两千人上下，常住人口普遍少于户籍人口。[1]
革命历史[edit]
1927年10月初，黄埔军校毕业的刘立道受周恩来和起义军前委派遣，赶到黄羌圩向海陆丰县委书记张善铭说明南下部队缺兵的情况，县委决定招兵3000人，拨银元一万作经费。10月4日，第一批700名农军自黄羌出发，行至揭西河婆得知起义军已退向陆丰，便折回。[3]
10月9日，南昌起义军第二十四师余部转到黄羌朝面山休整。10月下旬经中共方面决定，这支部队改称工农革命军第二师，先建第四团，董朗任团长、颜昌颐任党代表；12月底，二师师部在朝面山正式成立，董朗任师长，全师1800人。[3]
10月21日，国民党军陈学顺部千余人进入黄羌圩，农军预先撤空街巷，夜间自东、西、北三面合击，敌军向南经合门逃往公平，农军追至公平并继续向海城推进。县政府网站称此役打响了海陆丰第三次武装起义的第一枪。[3]
经济与特产[edit]
虎噉村一带出产的虎噉金针菜于2011年1月30日获原国家质检总局批准实施地理标志产品保护。[7] 黄羌林场是汕尾市国有林场，始建于1958年，2004年定名汕尾市国有黄羌林场，森林覆盖率达91%。[6]
名胜古迹[edit]
坑联村的华南园由钟华南出资兴建，建有融合巴洛克风格与岭南砖雕的洋楼，兼作村民文化礼堂。[8] 黄羌林场境内的红二师师部和中共东江特委旧址纪念室2015年得到重建，四十九团团部遗址则在2016年新建；25千米环场公路把15处革命遗址连成一线。[6] 县政府网站另载有黄羌村革命遗址简介的附件。[9]

2026年3月，黄羌镇被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[4]
