筠竹村在梅州市兴宁市叶塘镇境内，是镇属的行政村。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，筠竹又叫高田坑，周围地形把它托高，中间高、四周低，常怕干旱；据说前人为防旱灾，在村里种了许多大麻竹，称筠竹。[1]
1949年建国初为筠竹村农会，1950至1957年改称大队；1963年起设筠竹乡，至1986年；此后叫管理区，1999年定为村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的名单于2019年9月公布，该村在列。[1]
