坪中村位于大坪镇中心一带，2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

因村域辽阔，又处在大坪镇的中心位置，故名坪中。前身是高级社时期的横坑、上庄、团结三个社，到1962年并成坪中生产大队，其后1987年成立管理区，1999年定为村委会，名称一直未变。[1]
