名称与沿革[edit]
大坪河流经这里，过去涨水时常积水成灾，一片汪洋，像一口大塘。村子又在河的下游，于是叫下大塘。[1]
1949年称村农会，1950至1957年称大队，1963至1986年称乡，1986年后为管理区，1999年起称村委会。[1]
2019年9月，下大塘村入选省「民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度创建单位。[1]
