名称与沿革[edit]

此处是大坪河与另一条河的汇合口，旧时汛期常被水淹，形如一口大塘；因在河的上游，称上大塘。[1]

1949年为上大塘村农会，1950至1957年为大队，1963至1986年为乡，之后设管理区，1999年起定名为村委会。[1]
