七层村属兴宁市永和镇。村里一处山嘴上露出七块大石板，每块可晒一担谷，叫“七贤”，方言里“层”与“贤”同音，故称七层。[1]

建置沿革[edit]

七层先后设乡（1951年）、管理区（1961年）、生产大队（1963年），1983年复称乡，1999年起为七层村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月公布的2018年度名单上，该村为「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
