板子村属兴宁市永和镇。村名来自板子岗，那里原是通往梅县的岗口，圩日里自石马、宝山一带挑木板来卖的人都在岗上歇脚，木板堆满山岗。[1]

建置沿革[edit]

记载称1951年撤永宁乡后设板子乡（同一条另有1956年属永宁乡板子岗之句）；1961年至1962年设大队，1963年为生产大队，1983年设乡，1991年设管理区，1999年起为村委会。[1]
