中行村是平远县中行镇人民政府所在地，中行圩在村内，下设10个村民小组。[1]
地名由来[edit]
旧名“中坑”，来历有三说：四面山丘、中间溪流穿过；老圩址原是山坑，清代填平后开设“中坑圩”；村子正处官坑、黄坑两村之间。民国十五年（1926年）前后，饶姓人在圩上开办邮政代办所，定名“中行邮政代办所”，“行”取流通、传递之意，此后“中行”取代了“中坑”，“行”字也依习惯读成“坑”音。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
全村450户、2005人，总面积15.5平方千米，耕地1781亩；种玉米、西瓜和沙田柚，无籽西瓜为特色，上一年农村经济总收入1269.93万元。圩镇改造中，经县里立项，拟投资六百多万元修一条环镇大道，全长3.5千米、路基宽15米，用来拓展圩镇。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
中行石拱桥建于明代，2016年6月29日公布为第四批梅州市文物保护单位。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年立中行乡，其后依次改称生产大队（1958年）、乡（1983年）；1987年起设村民委员会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年恢复村民委员会之名，沿用至今。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2026年3月，中行村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[2]
