官坑村在平远县中行镇，位于中行圩北面约4千米，下设6个村民小组，与儒地、中行、仲石、快湖、良畲诸村相邻。[1]
地名由来[edit]
清代中期此地叫“乾坑”：地形是一条长山坑，水源又不足。相传后来本地有位读书人当过县里的师爷，认为这里会出做官的人，又因“乾”与“官”同音，把“乾坑”改成了“官坑”。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
全村176户、681人，总面积8平方千米，耕地700亩；种油茶、茶叶、花生和沙田柚，特色收入来自油茶和茶叶，上一年农村经济总收入486万元。它是中行镇两个贫困村之一，在扶贫“双到”工作中，得到帮扶单位支持，农户为广东宏太、梅州金穗等企业按订单种甜玉米、无籽西瓜，并做水稻制种。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年官坑归快湖乡管辖，1960年之前也一直是快湖生产大队的一部分。此后1983年改乡，1987年建村民委员会，1989年改管理区，至1999年重设官坑村民委员会。[1]
