快湖村在平远县中行镇，位于中行圩东南约1千米，下设12个村民小组。[1]
地名由来[edit]
名称来历有两说。一说古时此处沼泽和湖洋田多、水草茂密，青蛙成群，客家话“青蛙”读作“拐”，与“快”音近，故称快湖；另一说不同意这种讲法，认为此地自古叫“快湖”，韩元勋《地名谣》里已有记载，“拐湖”是后人按谐音改出来的。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
全村401户、1594人，总面积14.53平方千米，耕地1502亩；种西瓜、水稻、甜玉米、生姜和烤烟，上一年农村经济总收入1110.88万元。2008年引进的梅州金穗有机生态园总投资约8000万元，规划面积4800亩，定位为观光休闲和农耕文化教育；此外，梅州市润源实业有限公司在村里兴建食品厂，占地80亩，预计投资1250万元，产品为茶油与保健品。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
金穗谷养生旅游区位于村内，园区范围约4800亩，主打休闲养生。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年立快湖乡，其后依次改称生产大队（1958年）、乡（1983年）；1987年起设村民委员会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年恢复村民委员会之名，沿用至今。[2]
荣誉[edit]
快湖村三次获省级认定：2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；2020年8月，以水稻入选省农业农村厅的「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」；2022年1月，省乡村振兴局定其为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[2]
