仲石村在平远县中行镇，位于中行圩南面约7千米，下设8个村民小组。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村民约九成五姓张。张氏祖屋背后有块大石，状如凤凰的发髻，村子最初叫“凤石村”，后来口头讹成“仲石”，沿用至今。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
全村304户、1400人，总面积12.27平方千米，耕地1198亩；种黄豆和西瓜，无籽西瓜是特色，上一年农村经济总收入861万元。村里围绕大河背景区发展旅游：修通了仲石村到大河背的水泥路，添置小客船开展水上漂流，并有台湾农民创业园的引进计划。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
- 别具洞天景区在村西南方。[2]
- 枫树岗太平天国摩崖石刻在村东，刻有“太平天国平天王左排”七字，平远县人民政府于1985年定为文物保护单位。[2]
- 万载桥建于清代，梅州市人民政府在2017年3月24日将它列入第五批市级文物保护单位。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年立仲石乡，其后依次改称生产大队（1958年）、乡（1983年）；1987年起设村民委员会，1989年一度叫管理区，1999年恢复村民委员会之名，沿用至今。[2]
