中行镇在广东省梅州市平远县西部，离县城14千米，国道206线从镇内通过。镇境东面是河头镇，北面是八尺镇，南面是大柘镇，西面越过省界，便是江西省寻乌县丹溪乡。镇政府设在中行村，下辖良畲、仲石、儒地、快湖、中行、官坑6个行政村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明末清初，这里属义田都下的河头堡。到1683年（清康熙二十二年），都、堡两级被废，改称河头乡；此后直至1949年，中行一直在河头乡辖下。[1]

1949年后几经分合：先属河八区；1958年划入八尺公社；1961年从中分出，立为中行公社；1963年并入河头公社；到1974年，中行公社重新单立。其后体制调整：1984年称区，1987年称乡，1994年12月建镇。[1]

据博雅地名网，2003年末全镇共有7个村委会、51个村民小组；百度百科则称2020年6月时为6个行政村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

镇名取自驻地中行圩。当地旧称“中坑”，南北两侧是山丘，河水从山间谷地（客家话称“坑”）流过；清代在此设有“中坑圩”，后来读音变化，写作今名。[1]中行村一节另有说法：民国十五年（1926年）前后，有饶姓人家在中坑圩开办邮政代办所，取名“中行邮政代办所”，此后“中坑”渐被“中行”取代。[4]

地理环境[edit]

百度百科记全镇面积72.6平方千米，属亚热带季风气候；博雅地名网则记约74平方千米，并说明2021年第七次全国人口普查时，全镇人口数量在平远县各镇中居第8位。[1][2]

人口[edit]

2003年末统计为2189户、8423人（非农业人口444人）；2019年末，户籍人口增至9382人。[1][2]

经济[edit]

2003年，全镇生产总值为3322万元，比前一年多6.8%；农业产值2641万元，工业产值1813万元，合计4454万元；镇财政收入132万元。[1]2000年工农业总产值为2132万元；到2019年，全镇有工业企业28家，其中规模以上的1家，较大的综合商店、超市13家。[2]

各村以西瓜、甜玉米、稻谷等为主要作物，2008年起，梅州金穗有机生态园落户快湖村，仲石村依托大河背一带的水上游览项目发展旅游。[5][6]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 别具洞天景区：在仲石村西南，离县城不到10千米，湖面长约5千米。景区内有飞鸟穿洞、仙姑岩、情侣岩等岩景，一级电站对面有龙潭瀑布，另有冰臼群、潜水洞、石棺等景点。[3]
  • 金穗谷养生旅游区：在快湖村，范围约4800亩，主打休闲养生，临206国道。[3]
  • 枫树岗太平天国摩崖石刻：在仲石村东面的枫树岗石壁上，石上竖刻三行共七字，内容是“太平天国平天王左排”，长0.8米；平远县人民政府1985年把它定为县级文保单位。[3]
  • 中行石拱桥：在中行村，建于明代；2016年6月29日梅州市公布第四批市级文保单位，此桥在列。[3][7]
  • 仲石村万载桥：建于清代，2017年3月24日进入梅州市第五批市级文保单位名单。[3][8]
  • 儒地水口桥：明代所建，与万载桥同日（2017年3月24日）被列为市级文物保护单位。[3][9]
