增大村属梅州市五华县横陂镇，是该镇的一个行政村，位于镇域东北部[1]。据博雅地名网所载，全村下设19个村民小组，登记在册496户、2496人[1]。

地名由来与历史沿革[edit]

此地四面地势较高，形如灯盏，后人把“灯盏塘”谐音称为增大塘，简称增大。[1]

村级建制的变迁：1949年为增大乡，1958年建有增大大队，1983年易名为增大乡政府，1989年叫作增大管理区，1999年易名为增大村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2023年2月，增大村获「2022年度五华县文明村镇」称号。[1]
