据博雅地名网，全村总面积14.89平方千米，耕地约370亩；年平均气温15度，年降雨量约1900毫米。[1]村里的经济作物以红薯、竹、木、水稻等为主，所载上一年全村经济总收入663万元。

历史沿革[edit]

地名由来：村落整体呈方形，村民取“吉祥”的寓意，因而得名。[1]

方吉在1958年公社化时先设建新大队，随后改叫方吉大队；八十年代设管理区，1999年成立方吉村村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2017年10月，被省爱国卫生运动机构评为「第一批广东省卫生村」。[1]
  • 2026年3月，认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
