梅江社区居委会成立于1982年2月，在梅州江南西部，东边是梅新路，西边是沿江西路，南到嘉应大桥，北到江南路，总面积0.2平方公里。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区临梅江河，故以梅江为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年这里属梅江，1978年后称梅江大队；梅江居委会1982年2月设立，2001年以后改设社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]

住户1800多户，常住4742人；设6个居民小组，8个生活小区，另有3个市直单位。[1][2]
