历史沿革[edit]
建村时村前有水潭，村后有河，因称河潭。[1]1998年起称河潭村委会；此前有1989年的管理区、1987年3月的村委、1984年与梁屋、光明并成的河梁乡；1961年为大队；1870年属和平约堡，是河潭小村。[1]2019年9月，村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
据百度百科，村已有300多年历史，地形像一只螃蟹，保存有「五栋屋」等传统建筑250多座。[2]全村约3500人，面积约3平方千米，耕地2100多亩。[2]
