西区街道是广东省惠州市大亚湾经济技术开发区（简称大亚湾区）管理的三个街道之一，位于开发区西部，西与深圳市坪山区相邻。[1][2]在行政区划数据中，大亚湾区属于惠阳区，西区街道的区划代码列在惠阳区之下。[4][5]街道设立于1992年3月，辖区面积约95.8平方千米，2020年第七次全国人口普查时常住人口28.9万人。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1992年3月，这里设立了党委与办事处两个机构，名称为「中共惠州市大亚湾规划区西区委员会」「惠州市大亚湾规划区西区办事处」；至1993年，机构名称改冠开发区之名；2008年起改称街道工作委员会和街道办事处，沿用至今。[1][3]大亚湾经济技术开发区本身经国务院批准，于1993年5月设立，下辖澳头、西区、霞涌三个街道。[4][5]
隶属与管理[edit]
据维基百科，开发区在行政区划上属惠州市惠阳区；据百度百科，开发区的区划属于惠阳区，由惠州市政府直接管理。[4][5]本站所用的区划数据同样把西区街道列在惠阳区名下，代码为441303008。[1]百度百科的西区街道词条则写作隶属惠阳区，区划代码441303004。[3]
地理与交通[edit]
街道地处开发区西部，西、南面分别与深圳市坪山区、大鹏新区接壤，北面连惠阳区，东邻澳头街道，到惠州港的深水码头，东南方向约10公里。[2]气候属亚热带海洋性气候，通行客家话。[1][3]街道建有“四横十纵”路网，大亚湾大道、石化大道、龙海一路至三路等干道横贯辖区，有7条主次干道通往深圳；据该页所述，辖区距深圳地铁14号线沙田站约2.2公里，距16号线田心站约1公里。[2]
经济与人口[edit]
第七次全国人口普查登记的常住人口为28.9万人，另有流动人口22.1万人。[2]地区生产总值2021年为323.2亿元，工业总产值2022年为890.2亿元。[1][2]另一说法是2023年工业总产值963.9亿元，辖区内的新兴产业园区规划面积21.4平方千米。[3]

各来源对下辖数量说法不一：博雅地名网记截至2023年2月为10个行政村、21个社区，其页面所列已增至26个社区（2025年2月新设坪湾、锦园、康雅、龙盛、河边5个社区，分别由新惠、锦惠、板嶂岭、龙光社区和老畲村析置）；百度百科称10个行政村、27个社区。[1][2][3]村和社区的地名由来与沿革见各自条目，如塘尾、新寮等村的沿革可上溯到明清。[6]其中塘尾村称省级文明村、省乡村治理示范村，新寮、塘布两村称市级文明村。[2]
