社区于2013年成立，批准文件为端府函〔2013〕70号。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年8月，国家卫生健康委员会老龄健康司将星湖社区列入「全国示范性老年友好型社区」名单；2022年8月，社区被定为当年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建单位；2025年11月，又入选「广东省未来社区（完整社区）建设试点」。[1]
